I received the smart bird feeder as a gift for Christmas and just recently put the feeder up and I absolutely love this feeder. So far I have had 5 different bird species arrive. The camera takes great videos and the clarity is amazing.
When the first squirrel arrived I turned the siren on and it left, but sadly within 2 days the darn squirrel doesn't seem to be bothered by the siren and the squirrel extractor doesn't seem to be working either. Doing battle with the squirrels can be frustrating and has been for years since I have other feeders out.
The camera is much better than I expected. The bird watching is wonderful.
My whole family loves this bird feeder! We have a regular feeder on the side yard and put this one in the backyard among trees. So fun seeing the different types of birds and getting the videos too o download and share with friends
I ordered the Smart Bird Feeder for my wife as a Christmas present. We have enjoyed it these past two and a half months.What I like about the feeder:1. Ease of mounting. The feeder comes with a bracket to mount to a post or wall, and a tree strap to wrap around a tree. I used the strap to mount it to a wooden play set.2. The feeder is easy to fill and holds about a week’s worth of bird seed for my area as long as you can keep the squirrels out (more on that later).3. The camera battery will last almost a week before it needs a recharge. I suggest ordering the Smart Bird Feeder with a solar panel. I ordered one separately after a few weeks use and it keeps the battery topped off and in the green.4. The camera gives you great clear pictures that make bird watching fun. The camera will recognize birds and furry animals and send you a notification. There is an app that you can download for free but there is an additional charge if you want add-in AI that identifies the specific species of bird. Save a few bucks and buy a bird book for your area instead.What I didn’t like about the Smart Bird Feeder and down rated it to 4 stars:1. The construction of the door to the camera enclosure is very poor. The door catch is weakly stapled into the frame. When I pushed the door closed to latch it, the staples bent and eventually the wooden triangular piece of the catch broke loose. I ended up removing the wooden triangular piece and inset a strong magnet into the enclosure frame with a flat steel screw in the door. Now the magnet securely holds the door closed.2. The Squirrel Expulsion feature siren isn’t loud enough to scare away most of the squirrels or maybe I have deaf squirrels. I have better luck using the Call Up feature in the app and shewing the squirrels away.Overall I am satisfied with the purchase but I definitely recommend purchasing the solar panel at the same time.
Loving this bird feeder! It gives you a 15 second video of the birds or you can connect directly to the camera and watch it. The quality of the video is good and it’s fun to see the different birds we get. We did buy the solar panel to keep the camera charged as we constantly have birds coming to eat which eats up the battery of the camera. The bird feeder itself has lasted well in the snow and rain.
